Beginner Roping & Horsemanship Clinic – 2 Days

Ready to build confidence with your horse and learn the basics of roping in a low‑pressure, supportive setting? This two‑day **beginner** clinic focuses on solid horsemanship and safe, correct fundamentals of roping for riders who are new or looking to get back to basics.
We will cover:
- Horsemanship: body position, stopping, steering, and control at the walk and trot
- Rope handling: swings, delivery, and safe handling on the ground
- Roping on the dummy
- Building a better partnership between horse and rider
- $350 per rider for both days (includes lunch)
- Lunch: Hot dogs and hamburgers included both days
- Limited stalls and paddock space available for an additional fee (must reserve in advance)
Auditors are welcome: $20 per day.
What to bring:
- Your horse, current negative Coggins, and standard tack
- Rope if you have one (a few will be available to borrow)
- Water for you, any extra snacks, chair, and weather‑appropriate clothing

Join us at Los Solano Ranch in North Berwick, Maine for a free two‑day colt starting demo with 5 young horses, running 10 AM to 4 PM each day.
Come spend the first weekend in May at Los Solano Ranch in North Berwick, Maine for a relaxed, educational **colt** starting demonstration.
Over two days, we will be working with 5 young horses, showing step‑by‑step how we introduce groundwork, saddling, and first rides in a calm, progressive way.
This is a free, auditor‑only event; no outside horses are needed.
You are welcome to drop in any time between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, but you’ll get the most benefit if you plan to stay for longer blocks so you can see each horse’s progress.
What to bring:
- Weather‑appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes
- A chair if you’d like to sit
- Snacks and drinks (no alcohol on the ranch)
Please no loose dogs on the property for safety.
Families and all experience levels are welcome; this is a great chance to see how thoughtful, low‑stress colt starting can set young horses up for success.
